In 75% of homicide investigations, I am useless to you. But in the 25% left, my involvement may be the difference between finding the lead you need to solve a case and frustration. In cases of serial murder or sex crime, I am indispensable.

I began formally consulting on cold cases in 2014. In one case, of sexual homicide in California, my analysis of criminal signature was a key contributor in preventing a wrongful prosecution. Several police investigators have also expressed to me that my guidance has helped them to resolve crimes they were investigating.

My areas of specialty include the analysis of crime scenes, 911 phone calls, communications from the offender, and offender psychology. When appropriate I can provide

• linkage analysis

• a profile of the offender

• an assessment of the offenders m.o. and signature and how these may evolve or have already evolved across a series of crimes

• recommendations for investigative/interviewing tactics and strategy

I am available to consult for, appear in, or conduct research for film, television, and web documentaries; podcasts; radio; and print interviews. However, the shine of appearing on television and radio wore off quite some time ago, so please know that I expect to be treated with respect and compensated for these services.
